iPhone5 wont be out so soon, but I keep waiting

Buat saya, beli iPhone4S is not a good idea.
Not pretty much improvement, selain Siri yang emang ngegemesin. Desain yg almost the same dengan iPhone4, terus software iOS 5-nya juga masih bisa diinstall ke 3GS, yeah artinya gadget saya yang udah bertahan 2 tahun ini pun masih diperhitungkan

Alasan lain, Apple seems so close to completing the next iPhone5 design. Well, ada untungnya kerja di jepun, masuk perusahaan manufaktur elektronik, telinga jadi tajem ama gosip-gosip produk baru. I can say, the next iPhone5 will be as awesome as hell! ups heaven, I meant

First, layar yang lebih besar, sekitar 4.2inch.
Second, layar yang bener2 crisp, clear, sampe bikin jari kita yg kotor ini ga tega nyentuh.
Third, layar yang very very awesome dude. Temen2 kantor saya ngebikin pabriknya setengah mati!

Oke so far, saya cuma punya informasi akurat tentang layarnya. Kick-off production will be around next August, so let’s have best expectation it will be ready to ship by end of 2012 (or 2012 is the end?)

Untuk pertama kalinya, Bill Gates, Chairman Microsoft corp. datang ke Indonesia, dan disambut dengan sangat hangat oleh Presiden SBY. Setelah sempat melakukan pertemuan di istana negara pada hari Kamis (8/5), Bill Gates diundang untuk menjadi pembicara pada acara “Presidential Lecture” yang berlangsung hari ini, Jumat (9/5) di JCC, Senayan, Jakarta.

Kebetulan aku bersama rombongan ITB mendapat undangan untuk menghadiri acara tersebut (thanks to Shana, walaupun harus berangkat jam 3 pagi dengan mata berkunang-kunang habis begadang nugas). Peserta mahasiswa lainnya juga berasal dari berbagai macam kampus di Indonesia, seperti UI, ITS, Prasetya Mulya, President University, dan Tarumanegara. Kami menempati balkon bagian atas (cukup jauh dari stage, sehingga kurang leluasa mengambil foto), sedangkan hanya undangan VIP yang terdiri dari menteri-menteri, pejabat, duta besar negara, serta tamu khusus lainnya yang menempati kursi di dekat stage.

Acara dibuka dengan sambutan yang cukup meriah dari presiden SBY. Presiden SBY memuji Bill Gates sebagai orang yang bervisi kuat, inspiratif, punya imajinasi tentang masa depan yang selalu berusaha untuk diwujudkannya, pekerja keras, memiliki jiwa sosial yang kental terutama kontribusinya di bidang pendidikan dan kesehatan. Presiden SBY juga berharap Indonesia dapat menjalin kerjasama yang baik dan kolaboratif dengan Microsoft dalam mengembangkan industri IT di Indonesia. Melalui program “Microsoft Campus” di Redmond USA, Presiden SBY berharap bibit-bibit unggul dari Indonesia dapat memberikan kontribusinya ke negeri sendiri, setelah ditempa di lingkungan Microsoft.

“It’s a great effort what Mr. Bill Gates’ done on Indonesian talents at Microsoft Campus. I expect one day, they will come back here and build up IT industries in Indonesia. I think it’s Mr. Bill Gates obigation, to make sure that they will really come home”, begitu kata pak SBY yang disambut gelak tawa dan tepuk tangan dari para hadirin.

Sementara itu, sikap Bill Gates selama di atas panggung cukup mendapat perhatianku. Terlihat di foto (klik untuk perbesar), gaya duduknya agak “ndeso” seperti lagi ngewarung

Ketika giliran Bill Gates naik ke atas mimbar memberikan ceramahnya, aku langsung menangkap kesan “sok tinggi / sok jago” yang ia perlihatkan, entah sengaja entah tidak. Tanpa memberikan kata sambutan penghormatan kepada siapa pun (termasuk presiden SBY!), Mr. Gates mengawali ceramah dengan kata “Good morning, all of you”. kemudian langsung nyerocos tentang materi yang ingin disampaikannya. Hueh, gaya bener..

Cara Bill Gates menyampaikan ceramahnya terasa datar-datar saja, dan terkesan serius. Bahkan hampir tidak ada guyonan / hal di luar materi yang ia sampaikan. Akibatnya, bisa ditebak, peserta yang jauh-jauh, capek,  dateng dari luar kota mulai “berjatuhan”, seperti mendengar khutbah jum’atan

Here’s some games i’ve tested with my notebook + Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 + Cedega 6.02

Counter Strike (v.1.5)

This game is playable without having to install it first. Some computers produce a warning / error message while entering the in-game menu, but it is ignorable by pressing enter twice or more. I used OpenGL rendering instead of Direct3D or Software. The gaming experience has been so delighting, so far, i’ve found no problem netiher for the single mode (playing with bot) nor multiplayer over LAN. Thus, Fire In The Hole!!

Hitman Contracts

This is one of my favourite games since the first sequel. Fortunately, Cedega has perfect compatibility with this unique game. The graphic detail and performance should be less impressing than playing in native Windows, but I still put my two thumbs up enjoying this gaming experience.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City

This game needs original CD on the drive during play. Later, I will provide you how to manage image CD and let the game detect it as the original one. Although this game works well without errors, I often experience incorrect texture display, such as invisible wall or building. But overall, it is still enjoyable with some level of tollerance.

Ready to be a Linux Gamer? Follow these steps one by one, and prepare for your glory!

1.Install Proper Manufacture’s Graphic Driver for Linux

In my opinion, NVIDIA has the best driver support for Linux. In fact, the only 3D graphic renderer driver found in Ubuntu packages is compiled by NVIDIA. So, if you’re an NVIDIA user, all you have to do is to ensure the latest nvidia-glx package already installed. Open System > Administration > Synaptic. Query a search of “nvidia”, then make sure “nvidia-glx-new” is installed.

ATI is getting a good support for Linux. Find the latest driver at http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html. Unfortunately, the driver needs to be compiled manually. If you’re unexperienced with compiling source code, carefully follow the steps suggested at the provided URL.

Intel and Via are behind them. There could be an official driver, but rarely released. Usually, you can still acquire the 3rd party drivers, but with some efforts to succesfully compile and install them. Try Googling at home

2. Download and Install Cedega

There’s no need of special instruction. Download Cedega 6.02 here. Install the deb package first. Run TransGaming Cedega, select menu TransGaming > Install Local Update, then point to the local update file provided. Test your system before play by selecting menu Tools > System Tests. If everything goes right, then it’s time to advance.

Cara Seru Install Banyak WordPress di Satu Domain

Kalau di artikel sebelumnya kita bisa memiliki banyak blog WordPress dengan subdomain yang berbeda, sekarang akan dijelaskan bagaimana kita melakukan hal serupa namun hanya pada sebuah domain / hostname.

Asumsi kita memiliki sebuah host dengan alamat : www.inoidage.com. Kemudian kita ingin memiliki 3 buah blog WordPress, masing-masing dengan alamat :

• www.inoidage.com/aisar
• www.inoidage.com/labibi
• www.inoidage.com/romas

Langkah pertama tentunya mengekstraksi file-file wordpress ke “Document Root“. Kemudian, seperti biasa, membuat sebuah database khusus untuk wordpress. Setelah itu, bukalah file wp-config.php dan masukkan parameter database yang telah kita buat. Contohnya :

Karena kita ingin menginstall beberapa blog dalam satu database, maka yang harus di-”mainkan” adalah “table_prefix”-nya. Nah, sekarang, problemnya adalah bagaimana menghubungkan antara URL dan “table_prefix” tersebut, sehingga pengaksesan /aisar dan /labibi akan merujuk ke tabel-tabel yang berbeda.

Karena kita akan memanipulasi URL, otomatis kita harus bekerja dengan mod_rewrite pada Apache. Aktifkanlah terlebih dahulu modul tersebut, kemudian buat sebuah file .htaccess pada “Document Root” dengan isi sebagai berikut :

Contoh tersebut merupakan standar WordPress apabila kita mengaktifkan “permalink”. Jika file-file wordpress tidak berada pada “document root”, cukup mengubah parameter RewriteBase dan RewriteRule. Contohnya, apabila file-file wordpress berada di bawah /blog, maka .htaccess menjadi :

RewriteRule . /blog/index.php [L]

Setelah berhasil memanipulasi URL dengan mod_rewrite, saatnya menghubungkan URL tersebut dengan “tabel_prefix”. Dikaitkan dengan asumsi sebelumnya, aku akan membuat folder baru dengan nama “wp-configs”, kemudian di dalamnya terdapat empat file :

• aisar.php
• labibi.php
• romas.php
• wp.php (default blog)

isi file tersebut kurang lebih hanya saru baris, seperti ini :

dengan ‘aisar_’ diubah-ubah sesuai “tabel_prefix” yang ingin dipakai (harus unik untuk tiap blog).
